Last week I came across a recipe for Nutella Stuffed Brown Butter + Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies. Otherwise known as The Best Cookies in the World, according to the Ambitious Kitchen. Any time something is called The Best, I immediately go into evaluation mode (don’t you??). Will I agree? I’d better taste for myself and see!
Ambitious they are. And worth the extra effort. Oh, yes.
What makes this stack of cookies so special? For starters, they are made with browned butter. Never tried that before. A slightly nutty flavor comes through, without the nuts. I’ve been told that Grassland butter has less water and is better for baking. It would be worth trying for this particular recipe as I found mine turned out slightly flat (not that I’m complaining!).
Just before they were done cooking, I pulled them out of the oven to add a sprinkling of crushed Maldon sea salt. An amazing addition to an already decadent treat.
Take a close look at the top cookie. You can see just a peek of the Nutella I added to the center of the cookie. The flavor is not overpowering, and it certainly doesn’t reduce the calorie count, but I’m of the belief that sometimes a little naughty is nice. :)
Are they The Best Ever? I don’t think I’ll ever concede that title to one cookie. It’s too fun trying new recipes in the quest of the winner! Hop on over to the Ambitious Kitchen for the recipe. You won’t be disappointed!
