be mine.

Valentine’s Day typically comes and goes in our home without much fanfare.   Too many males in the house for hearts and other such sappiness.  Every year it crosses my mind that some day these three sons of mine might will have wives who will find it necessary that they recognize Valentine’s Day with a bit of extra attention, so the pressure is on to train them up properly.

If it weren’t for classroom Valentines, I’m not sure my boys would have a clue about the Hallmark Holiday.  This is a time of year that I really miss having some pink in my life.  This little sequined number made its way into my wardrobe.  Because there aren’t enough pink hearts in my male-dominated world.

93284_KS5310I think I’ll style it up with a jean jacket for a little edge.  Maybe a cute scarf.

DSC_0043 2I’ll add these delicate pretties.

I’m all about the layered look these days, and I liked how this cross bracelet fit my wrist.  I’ll wear it as a little reminder of what love really is.

DSC_0001I’ll be donning my casual love-inspired ensemble while attending this Valentine’s basketball game.  Isn’t he handsome when he’s working hard at his studies? ; )

Speaking of jewelry, I picked up 60 glow bracelets (sticks, if you’re a boy) for a mere $4 at Michael’s to go with these Valentines, which I downloaded here. Perfect for my youngers to hand out at school.   It can be so hard to find Valentines for boys to give out, and I’m not a big fan of the store-bought variety.  I thought these hit the mark in mixing male-friendly with the cuteness that goes with V Day. Of course, we’ll have to tie them up with ribbon and attach a treat.  You know me, it’s all about the presentation!valentineCheck out the other options offered for girls and boys alike.  (There are even more ideas on my Pinterest board, if you’re scrambling to find something cute to hand out.)

valentine's_mailbox_tagsI’ll be printing “A Treat for my Sweet” to go with a little gift I plan to give my boys.  Because remember, I’m training them to recognize this silly holiday with a little gesture of love.  Future daughters-in-law in mind.  Maybe some day I’ll have a few sweet additions to the family of the female variety to wear pink with.  Until then, I get to ask four different handsome guys to “be mine” and not get in trouble for it.  How lucky am I?!

(OK, now I’ve gotten the sappy aspect of the holiday out of the way.)

Happy love day, friends!  Hope you enjoy it with someone sweet.

Oh my how your oldest has grown! Remember how he used to accuse me of ‘letting him win’ in football when we’d play in your living room, while I would just pray nothing would accidentally get broken?! Say hello to them for me!! :)

    • He’s nearly as tall as his dad now! Such fun memories of having you in our lives. Hope all is well down south (lucky girl!!).

You’ll love this- I just received something I ordered for our puppy, Indy. It’s a leopard print bandana with an over sized grosgrain bow and her monogram on it. The true definition of a southern girl! ;)
